Cowboy Jesse

Jesse rides west and straight into 10 space aliens.

Great for a read-aloud to focus on following instructions, counting, and prediction. Play follow the leader with the teacher as the leader. Turn to face standing students and read to the first alien. Count one. Then ask students to follow you one step. Repeat with the following numbers. After each number ask students to follow directions, which change with each count. Examples: stomp three steps, twirl once, tiptoe five steps, clap hands eight time, etc. Ask what number comes next.
